       Student Access:  the first step of today’s lesson is to make sure you can access your student drives.

       Intro to Computers Website:  all of the information and handouts for this class can be found on this website.  You are to check this website on a daily basis, both at home and at school, to know what the latest assignments are.

       Classroom Procedures:  Today you will receive a handout for the rules for my class.  Make sure you hang on to this sheet; you will need it for your binder check.  One of the major emphasis that you need to focus on in Accounting is organization–if you do not stay organized, you may have a hard time in this class.

       Goal Setting:  I want you to think about your goals for this class.  What grade do you want to get for this class?  I want you at this time to set your letter grade for both quarters and for the semester.  Be realistic.  After you decide on a grade, then I want you to answer the following questions:

• What grade do I want to achieve for this quarter?   this semester?
• What steps will I take to ensure that I accomplish my goal?  Be specific.  What are you going to do in order to accomplish your goal.
• How often will I check my dream goal to the realistic grade in this class?
• If my dream goal and realistic goal are off, what am I going to do to get back on track?

Goal setting is important.  The more serious you take this goal, the better you will do at reaching the desired outcome for this class.

       Intro to Computers Syllabus:  You will also receive  your keyboarding syllabus today.  A syllabus identifies the material that will be covered in this class.  Do not lose your syllabus.  If you do, you may download another copy by opening  up the link below.

       Supplies:  You will receive your Supplies sheet today. Supplies are due next Tuesday, August 26, 2008.  If you lose your Supplies sheet, you may download another sheet by clicking on the link below.  You will need to have your Supplies sheet in your binder, so don’t lose it.

       Movie on the History of Computers:  We will watch our movie today.  We will probably not finish it, so  we will finish it on Friday.  You are to fill our your worksheet as we go through the movie.
